Electric Windows

I have a broken drivers door window (electric) due to the bottom clamps slipping off the base of the window (rubber grommet-y things that go in the clamps were sheared off)

 

Firstyle, thanks all for the GREAT posts available on the forum, due to these I have been able to

 

- take off the door card

- replace the rubber "grips" with cut off bicycle inner tube

- get the window working again

 

However in my exaltation in my accomplishment and improvisatoin I neglected to to WD40 the window runners. 2 months later the mechanism has slipped off again at the botton of the window.

 

So..I called Ford (thought I'd get the proper rubber grips/inserts for the window regulator clamps). Reply was "sorry sir, not available separately, you'd have to buy the whole thing for

I'd stick with the inner tubes and contact adheshive them to the glass and runner!

Try phoning a windscreen fitter, they may be able to get them and let you have some for a small consideration.

You could also check a VW or Seat dealer - When I needed a speaker grille Fraud quoted for a whole door card @
